A mythical creature that came from the stars

I’m sitting here
In love
In thought
And In slowness.

There’s steam in my veins
There’s dreams in my eyes
There’s thoughts in my head like maple syrup
And there’s hand warmers in my chest.

I feel this way when I fall back to that night.
I’m drifting through the foam of this couch back to the bar.

It’s warm and brown.
There’s beer on the floor and gin on the walls.
There’s little lights dangling,
And there’s you.

There’s blush on your cheeks.
There’s history in your hair,
There’s fire in your laugh.
And there’s love in your eyes.

Not love for me but for life.
Love that could stop a train.

Not love that pains.
Love that hurts for every little bit the universe can give.

Not love that drifts away.
Love that knocks down buildings and brings tsunamis crashing to the shore.

If it hasn’t touched you yet,
This is the story of how I fell in love with you.
That night of drinks and games and bathrooms and laughs,
Of quietness too.

There’s gold light stroking your lips.
There’s flashing blues streaking across your eyes.
There’s liquors on your finger tips.
And there’s a life that I don’t know pouring out of your chest.

Your lives
Your deaths
Your missing loves
The burning restless nights in your toes.

You tell stories of your life.
It’s magical
It’s wonderful
It’s like falling through time.

It’s like sailing through underground caves
It’s like swimming through clouds.

You tell me about the door with smashed glass.
You tell me about brick walls,
Corridors,
Closets.

You tell me about your family,
Without even saying anything.
You tell me about the dreams you’ve had since you were a little girl,
By saying you’re from the south side.

We’re not talking
We’re exploring
We’re almost kissing
We’re almost choosing each other in that moment.

Storms storming into each other.
Nights knighting each other.

The air is burning,
It’s heavy.

Outside you could die from the cold
But in here we’re living from this crackling smoke.

We’re fighting
We’re competing
We’re wrestling
We’re wrapping into each other.

It’s all happening too fast
It’s all happening too slow
It all just won’t stop for a second
Because you’re smiling
Laughing
Acting
Dancing
Singing
Killing
And then you tell me you’re leaving

.
.
.
.

You’re leaving

.
.
.
.

Maybe forever

.
.
.
.

But somehow it doesn’t bother me in the least.
At least I will have met a princess
A real life fairytale

A mythical creature that came from the stars.
